Oru Space — Built on Curiosity
Oru Space began in Kuala Lumpur with a straightforward question: why do so many renovation projects end up looking like nothing in particular? Our founders — who came from architecture and product design backgrounds — set out to create a studio that puts aesthetic rigour back at the centre of the process.
Since opening our studio in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, we have worked on condominiums, bungalows, commercial fit-outs, and everything in between. What ties each project together is not a signature style — it is a shared commitment to listening carefully before drawing a single line.
The name "Oru" is a nod to a Malay word rooted in the idea of gathering and folding — which is exactly what good spatial design does: it gathers the different needs of a home and folds them into something coherent.

Our Approach
Interior Design Rooted in the Klang Valley
Malaysia's residential landscape is genuinely varied — shoplot conversions in Bangsar, high-rise condominiums in Mont Kiara, sprawling bungalows in Damansara, commercial spaces throughout TTDI and Petaling Jaya. Each comes with its own structural constraints, natural light conditions, and cultural expectations. Working well in this environment requires local knowledge that generalised design principles cannot provide.
At Oru Space, we draw on years of working across property types in the Klang Valley. We understand how high ambient humidity affects material choices, how Malaysian households actually use living and dining areas, and where to find skilled craftspeople who work to a consistent standard. This grounding shapes every project we take on — not as a formula, but as a foundation.
Our design sensibility leans toward spaces that age well: rooms that look as considered five years after completion as they do on the day the furniture arrives. That means resisting trend-chasing in favour of clarity, proportion, and materials with genuine character. It also means being honest when a client's wish-list needs to be edited for the sake of the whole.
